FedRAMP Moderate equivalency is the standard DoD sets for cloud services handling CUI under DFARS 252.204-7012, so it is the bar your contract and your assessor actually care about. One point of terminology worth being precise about: equivalency is not the same as a FedRAMP authorization issued by a federal agency. CUI Vault is not FedRAMP Authorized and we don't claim to be — that is a separate process for selling cloud services to federal agencies directly, and it is not what DFARS 7012 asks of a provider hosting your CUI.
